for everyone
I pose as a model for a budding photographer friend of mine at Intramuros. It was truly fun and a memorable experience, not to mention the strict policies in that historical site. We were almost kicked out of the place, but the heck ... we still made it . Kudos to my friend archie for my nice photos.

this lacks proportion and balance.. accdg. to our picto arts class before, there must exist symmetry. =)
norrington516 wrote on Dec 31, '07
Just make sure that there's just the right amount of headroom and the elements are harmonious. Don't worry about 'proportion and balance' that makes for boring photographs. Just make sure you can justify breaking the rules when you break them. They're more like 'guidelines' anyway.

Bootsie, as a self-proclaimed expert in the art of executing emotions in photographs (ha ha!), kulang yata sa projection ang lola ko. Or I'm just used to you smiling widely/wildly or sporting that evil stare.

Miss yah sistah!!! :D

Ummm i didn't want her smiling too much. Models don't smile unless it's for a family mag. :P

Umm... this meets the requirement of the 'Rule of Thirds'. Putting the subject on the left side creates drama, as compared to placing her on the right half. It also accentuates the brick surroundings. And don't u just love the broken-down brick pattern on the right? :P

Put the subject in the middle and it becomes a 'ho-hum' -- a pic, but no story. With this shot, it becomes a double peek-a-boo = peeking from the doorway, and the frame.

I agree with you norrington, but I guess this pix needs a lil headgroom pa =)

hi caz , this foto is also my favorite shot as well. i love the over all combination and harmony of the light and the way i do the emo.
airgem wrote on Jan 1
haha , which reminds me again of Narnia.

Wow. I gotta go visit sometime. hehe.

Hm. One comment here is that you may wish to watch out for things that grow out of the subject's head, especially. I suppose that's the only firm comment I can give.

On a less firm level, I feel the face could have been better lighted.

Also, the image seems just a bit static to me, and something about the lines feels wrong. That's why, much as I love them, I rarely shoot lamp-posts. I'm a rule-of-thirds addict, and I can't seem to make it work often around lamp posts They say vertical lines (which seem to be a dominant force in the movement of this frame) create a sense of static tension. Maybe that's it.

On an even less firm level - maybe it's just me, but the shot seems far too serious for that dress, which, to me, says "fun! fun! fun!"

I have an urge to shoot this shot with the model, barefoot, happily swinging from the post like a nine-year old, using the wall as a platform. Ewan. I'm not sure I'm actually capable of executing that, kasi. Basically a lot of motion and some diagonal lines (arms? torso? legs?) to break some of the vertical tension.

Just my two cents' worth. :-D

In my honest opinion, the best shot of the series. I would have loved to see this executed repeatedly, with a full range of emotions/reactions acted out in each shot. From surprise to wonder to fear to sadness to... you get the idea. :-D Anyway, I really love the shot.
airgem wrote on Jan 3
Thanks for your comment , very well taken. I like your suggestion regarding the series of emotional shots for this particular foto. It just so happened we had time constraints and taking foto shoots in Intramuros was prohibtd.
olrac327 wrote on Jan 12
Yup.. me too.. I love this shot.... can't give any great technical pointers or suggestions.. but that I was just drawn to it at first glance... :)

Tho you look Pretty here, your Photographer chopped your feet off.
I think the Shot is too forward of a Shoot. Your pose looks a bit awkward to me.
It's better to give your shots more Aesthetics. Give your Body some angle, even if so slight like your other Shots!
