JUST FOR FUN .... 1) Cloverfield will be this year's 300. 2) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will make Harrison Ford cool again. 3) James Bond will kick Maxwell Smart's skinny arse (but won't be nearly as funny doing so). 4) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be the slickest, most exciting entry in the series. At least, until they film book 7. 5) Heath Ledger's Joker will seriously fuck you up. Jack who? 6) The Sex in the City movie will be colloquially renamed Sex and the Menopausals. The ladies will trade their Manolos and martinis for orthopedic oxfords and calcium supplements. 7) JJ Abrams' reboot will be the best Star Trek movie in years, sending Trekkies rejoicing in the streets. No one else will care. 8) The new X-Files movie will be better that the first (i.e. more easily understood, and maybe even fun). And no one will care. 9) The new Mummy movie will suck. And, surprisingly, no one will care. 10) Rambo will have a modest run, spurring Stallone to pump out another sequel. In keeping with his practise of using one word titles, the next movie will simply be titled "John." 11) The WGA strike will be resolved in time to save the Oscars, the fall TV lineup, and next summer's movie season. Multi-millionaires all over Hollywood will breathe a collective sigh of relief. 12) To bolster sagging ratings, L O S T and Heroes will have a crossover special. The tagline will be "Save the Smoke Monster, Save the World!" 13) The year will see the end of reality TV, or at least anything with "celebrity" in the title. A suddenly out-of-work Stephen Baldwin will be forced to find a new career. 14) Will Smith will become the new spokesmodel for Scientology. Sorry Tom, it's time to trade up. 15) Britney Spears will wrap her Mercedes around a telephone pole, go to jail, and marry Michael Jackson upon release. He'll then ask for divorce, citing the fact that she's too nuts.
Based on the true story of Chris Gardner portrayed by Will Smith , gives a realistic view on everyday struggle of anyone who has financial problems. I was moved with all his struggle especially when his wife left him because of their financial difficulties. While working as a salesman of a bone density scanner ,he also took care of his child portrayed by his son in real life and at the same time working hard to pass the internship at the prestigious stock brokerage firm so that he may fulfill his dreams to have a better life for him and his son.The story was so amazing and inspiring, its full of optimism and makes one realize the importance of giving assurance and trust despite of all the hardships. There are a lot of catchy lines to ponder on the script, for me the most memorable was when Chris told his son to not allow anybody to say to him that he cant fulfill his dreams. That dialogue alone was full of conviction, optimism and upliftment. Despite of all his obstacles he has a very good sense of humor. Will Smith was really a perfect actor for this role , he gave justice to it and so are the rest of the cast. This film is a must see... two thumbs up for this great movie !
I was invited by my friend Caz last week to attend a convention entitled 'Read or Die' at the Hotel Intercontinental. With the title itself I already knew that this convention will focus on the importance of reading worthy books and other reading materials. True enough there I met some other reading enthusiasts, other fellow book clubs as well. Most of all I get to meet the National Artist for Literature F.Sionil Jose. He was indeed a man of wisdom, very outspoken and frank. One thing he said that was instilled in my mind was "without literature the person will not develop good ethics". True enough because it is in literature that we get to encounter good moral values and universal philosophy of goodness. It is in literature that all religions become one.I was also in high morale when our book club Anne Rice Philippines was mentioned by the host as they raffled off the prizes. She even asked some questions about some Anne Rice characters. I am pretty sure that in the next convention Anne Rice Philippines will be there in full force and with matching costume. And most of all to be part of the advocacy on the importance of reading .

Do you have the Valentine's Day blues? Maybe you're fresh out of a relationship -- feeling invigorated by your freedom, but then along comes Valentine's Day to screw it all up. Or maybe you've been looking for love, and Valentine's Day is merely one more unwanted reminder...of which there were plenty during the holidays just a few weeks ago!
Well, singles, pick yourselves up by your independent, my-true-love-is-out-there-somewhere bootstraps and make the decision to enjoy this Valentine's Day!
It's easier than you think:
1. Celebrate your independence. I know it's hard to imagine, but someday you will look back with fondness on the days when you were accountable to no one but yourself. Enjoy this time-that you can sleep until whenever you want, with whom you want (well, pretty much) and eat breakfast at 2PM on the couch in your pajamas! There are many benefits to being on your own.
2. Take charge. If you've had your eye on someone, or you've been engaging in some heavy yet indirect flirtation, make the move. Think about when you are old and gray one day, regretting all the things you didn't do when you were young and attractive! If you are too scared to do it in person, send an email or a text message. That way the ball is in his court if he wants to respond. Or, send him flowers! A study conducted by Rutgers University found that men who received flowers showed increased eye contact, body proximity and more and truer smiles than men who didn't.
3. Send flowers to yourself. It works for you, too! Flowers are beautiful and make you feel happy every time you look at them. Spend the money you would spend on a honey on a beautiful arrangement for yourself.
4. Babysit a friend's kids. It's good karma to allow two others a shot at Valentine's Day bliss. Plus, a night with the kids just might restore a sense of appreciation for the single life!
5. Make a cake. From scratch -- frosting and all. It's fun to create something from start to finish and then you get to eat it. If you choose chocolate, you just may feel the same lusty endorphins that those in love do.
6. Broaden your sense of love. From your family to your friends to your lovers of times past, focus on how lucky you are for all of the love in your life.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Yeah friendships indeed this is true. I found out that the snatcher of my friend's cellphone is still being used by the snatcher himself . I happened to text a forwarded message to my friend Judith and the snatcher replied to my text and said " Sorry ka na lang di ako ang friend mo ." Then I answered back that the number that I texted was in my phone directory for many years and I can not go wrong ,then I just asked who the person was then again this clepto being text me back again and said "SECRET".So I had this feeling this person stole my friends cellphone, I called my friend and told me her cellphone was snatched last year. I replied to the message and I told him that " You snatcher, ang kapal ng face mo by the mere fact that youre using a stolen cellphone and you didnt even change the sim card of my friend and have the guts to use it , well MAKARMA ka ." Then he answered back and foul-mouth me ,then I replied and told this being that " you see nakikita sa pagkatao mo the way you talk.".This time that person did not replied anymore.Funny though because he even had the guts to use my friend's number. Well that's it for now .
